DRIFTWOOD - Summer Reading - "Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds"
Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds Driftwood Public Library Sign-ups begin today for the summer reading program at the Driftwood Public Library, "Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds." (Similar programs are being held at other public libraries in Lincoln County. Check left hand column for library contact information.) Many free events for children and families are offered throughout the summer. The first family night, "Medieval Night of Knights," will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). Crafts, foods and demonstrations will be included. In the children's room, an incredible mural has been painted by past Sitka visitor and artist Cecilia Hallinan of Portland. It also includes a flying dragon done by Talia Sanfiippo, volunteer, and a castle entrance by teen volunteers working with Children's Librarian Teena nelson. For information about the summer reading program call Teena Nelson at 996-1258 or the library front desk at 996-2277. Thanks to these reading sponsors:
