Registration for the Summer Reading Club, "Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds." begins today at the Newport Public Library.  Registration is being held June 1 - July 15, 2005.  (Similar activities are taking place at other public libraries in Lincoln County.  For contact information check the column on the left.)

Ages 1 to 5 | Ages 6 to 11 | Teens

Ages 1 to 5
The Read-To-Me Club is for children ages one to five years old and their family. The family keeps track of every fifteen minutes that they read together by filling in a reading wheel available at the library. Children who finish each step of the reading wheel receive a Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds tattoo, JC Market cookie card, a Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds crown, and a certificate. See the Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds schedule for other activities.

Ages 6 to 11
Children ages 6 to 11 can earn a Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds t-shirt by setting a reading goal for the summer and keeping track of the titles they read. When that goal is reached, a t-shirt is awarded. Interested readers may sign up at either public desk at the library. See the Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds schedule for other activities.

Ages 12 to 18
JOUST READ, The Teen Summer Contest, is for youth ages 12 to 18. Teens signing up will receive a contest record book. See the Teen Summer Library Program schedule for other fun summer activities!

Thanks to these reading sponsors:
